Blue Earth Stage Photo Compressed - Bull and Wolf

Bull and Wolf

Bull and Wolf is a video production agency that prides itself on creating unmissable ads and content for ambitious brands with a purpose. Their pioneering approach to their business is that “we don’t do boring”. They have recently gained B-Corp status, showing that they can break the mould while upholding their values of collaboration, compassion and creativity.

Blue Earth Summit

Joe Turnball, founder of Bull and Wolf, attended the Blue Earth Summit session of the Innovation in the Wild series in October 2022. This session took attendees up to Bristol for two days where they could see inspiring talks from passionate businesses and leaders.

Coming up to the event with a group of business leaders from Cornwall through the Innovation in the Wild series was a really nice touch for Joe. The group enjoyed networking on the train journey to Bristol, attending the many different talks and workshops at the venue and crucially sharing ideas and concepts with each other at the end of the day.

“Networking was fantastic”

There were several highlights of the summit for Joe, such as Sir Tim Smit’s presentation, talks that centred on the concept of de-growth and transparency and a fantastic panel about the Global South, exploring geographical pressure to conform to particular ways of doing business. Another really valuable talk for Joe was from Jax Davey from Nuevo, a company in the same sector as Bull and Wolf, who talked about the carbon impact of video production.

“There was a really fascinating and interesting group of businesses there trying to do things a different way and it was really great to feel a part of that”

Ultimately, Joe really appreciated the opportunity to go outside of Cornwall with an event.

It was really useful going outside of Cornwall, it was nice to go elsewhere and hear from new people at the conference”

The distance from Cornwall helped cement the county’s importance to Bull and Wolf’s identity.  One of their biggest takeaways was being able to talk about Cornwall and the benefits it brings them as a company such as location inspired creativity and managing the work-life balance. While this was something they had previously avoided, not wanting to alienate people from elsewhere, they have recognised the importance of telling their story and sharing what they do as a company.

See you at the next Blue Earth Summit!

Joe Turnball is excited to attend the next Blue Earth summit, having enjoyed the last one so much. Since the Innovation in the Wild session, Bull and Wolf have been busy attaining B-Corp status and gaining a new member of staff to join their team.

As a result of the Innovation in the Wild session Bull and Wolf were able to rekindle a relationship with a business that Joe met at the Blue Earth Summit. They have since completed a project with this business and believe that this wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t had attended the summit.
